Dr. Matthew Lin Launches Campaign for State Assembly
Dr. Matthew Lin drew a large group of supporters Saturday morning as he officially launched his campaign for California’s new 49th Assembly District at the Garfield Medical Center, where he first began his medical practice more than 30 years ago.
Off to a strong start, Dr. Lin’s campaign begins with endorsements throughout the 49th District. In addition to support from Sheriff Lee Baca and Los Angeles Mayor Michael Antonovich; Dr. Lin has already secured backing from a bi-partisan group of City Councilmembers and School Boardmembers from throughout the District.
“Dr. Matthew Lin has the business experience and common sense that is so sorely needed in Sacramento,” said Los Angeles County Supervisor Michael Antonovich.
“Dr. Lin is a great physician, taking care of his patients for the last 33 years. Now, California has a problem, and Dr. Lin is the man of my choice to take care of the problems for us,” said Los Angeles Sheriff Lee Baca.
Dr. Lin, a recognized expert in orthopaedic surgery, has practiced medicine in the San Gabriel Valley for more than 33 years. He previously has served as Chief of Surgery and Chief of Staff at Garfield Medical Center.
He is a popular twice-elected former San Marino City Councilman. On three different occasions Lin was selected by his colleagues to serve as the city’s Mayor.
Dr. Lin also is a successful businessman, currently serving as Vice-Chairman of AHMC Healthcare Inc. – a healthcare provider that serves the San Gabriel Valley.
For years, Dr. Lin has dedicated his time and resources to giving back to his community. He has long supported the YMCA, Boys and Girls Club, his local church, and his local library. In addition, Dr. Lin has traveled on medical relief missions to four continents. He traveled to Louisiana to help with the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina, as well as to Taiwan, China, Sri Lanka, El Salvador, Bolivia, Mexico, and areas throughout Africa.
