RAY BRADBURY 1920-2012

Fremont Centre Theatre is saddened by the loss of playwright, producer and friend of the theatre Ray Bradbury. Through his production entity Ray Bradbury’s Pandemonium Theatre Company, a dozen shows were presented at Fremont Centre Theatre, including “Fahrenheit 451,” “Leviathan ’99,” “Dandelion Wine,” “The Wonderful Ice Cream Suit,” “The Illustrated Bradbury,” and the World Premieres of “Autumn People,” “2116,” “Green Town,” “Invisible Boy,” “Yestermorrows,” “The Machineries of Joy” and “A Ray Bradbury Christmas.”
One of the world’s most honored and revered writers of fantasy, he wrote for every medium, including short stories, novels, screenplays, plays, teleplays, operas, and oratorios.
Among the many honors he received, he was especially proud of the two L.A. Weekly Theatre Awards that he received, one of them recognizing Lifetime Career Achievement in Theatre.

South Pasadena’s Fremont Centre Theatre was his theatrical home from 2006 to 2010. He died June 5, 2012 at the age of 91. He will be sorely missed.
